When Petra saw burlesque for the first time, she fell in love immediately and founded a new scene in Finland and became Bettie Blackheart. Nakedness and sexuality were finally something more than sin or shame.

Filmmaker Iina dares to join Petra’s dancing classes. While dancing, she notices how she has learnt to hide her femininity. Iina discovers the right to own her body and sexuality and grows up to be a woman she was born.

Iina Terho, the director of the film, will be our guest at the screening. She will be interviewed by Espoo-based documentary filmmaker Iiris Härmä.

The film is one of Kannusali’s burlesque-related events that include a wonderful burlesque night, an exhibition and workshops.
