Glims farm and inn

The permanent exhibition consists of the former farmstead of Glims in the village of Karvasmäki near Bemböle in Espoo. The Karvasmäki region has been the site of village type settlement at least from the 16th century onwards.

Like many other farms and holdings in Espoo Glims served as an inn from time to time, the last time being from 1891 to 1901.  Among other functions the farm has been a tax-exempt holding appended to the major's commission of the Uusimaa Regiment of Infantry and also the office-related holding of the local bailiff.

Apart from the threshing shed all of the buildings are in their original locations and form a pleasant whole. Most of the buildings are from the 19th century. The artefacts have been collected from various parts of Espoo.
